The construction of the ‘Casa Box’ by Alan Chu Silveira e Cristiano Arns Kato Architectos followed a simple program. The aim was to renovate a caretaker’s house on an island on the North coast of the State of São Paulo, Brazil. The two floor white suspended box sits 100 meters above sea level, surrounded by enormous rocks.
+ Read MoreOn the upper floor one has spacious views of the São Sebastião Channel, looking out of the bedroom’s wooden shades. The concrete box on top is suspended over a stone wall and greats an illuminated space, including living room, kitchen and bathroom. To recycle the wood used to make scaffoldings for the white box, the leftovers where transformed into doors and windows, staircase, shelves and furniture.
