Standert in Berlin is a coffee and bike shop in one. When visiting the shop, I almost didn’t dare to put my shabby bike in front of it – spuriously as I’ll find out a little later. Entering the shop, I get a warm welcome by th owner Max, his girlfriend Anna and some country music.
+ Read MoreMax developped his passion for biking during his time at a residential school in the black forest. When returning to his hometown Berlin, the passion for bikes came along and he started working as a cycle courier next to his studies in industrial design. The wish to turn the love for bikes into a profession was the hour of birth for Standert. Today guests can drink coffee, eat soup, sandwiches or bagels next to bikes and biking supplies. A repair and assembling shop found its place in the back of the store. Though Standert is not only for bike pro’s but also for everyone with a less hip bike to enjoy a good coffe or get a professional makeover. During summer they also sell homemade popsicles. The shop is definitely worth a little stopover, no matter if you are with or without your bike and it is not very unlikely you’ll meet us on a summer evening with an avocado popsicle in front.
