Artist Scott Carter creates site specific installations in which all of the objects are constructed from the surrounding walls and floors. As he tells us, he is influenced by the experience of living amongst mass produced materials and objects that are inherent in contemporary architecture and design.

These installations often have a direct, physical, connection to the site in which they are created/ displayed and can vary in content ranging from modernist design and classical sculpture to traditional furniture construction. Ultimately, he would summarize his work as a physical and conceptual investigation into the possibilities of materials, objects and architecture in relation to contemporary art and design.
