Nudes

Each of the women seems to radiate a great self-assurance. Light and shadow lay like a veil over the naked women. This creates two different, yet in themselves resting visual systems. One one hand the system of the nudes, in which everything seems to revolve around the person depicted and on the other hand a system consisting of a network of geometric patterns and shapes formed by the detailed shadows. Victoria Selbach’s way of working is cognitively very appealing and our brain is almost forced to complete the outline and indicated bodies. This combination of clarity and mystery is what makes Victoria Selbachs images unique and exciting.
