Typewritten Portraits by Álvaro Franca

Words

Rio de Janeiro-based artist Álvaro Franca uses just a typewriter and some paper to create portraits of his favorite authors. For his series ‘Typewritten Portraits’, Franca typed portraits of Jack Kerouac, J.D. Salinger and Charles Bukowski amongst others. Each of the faces is composed of mere letters. When creating a portrait, he prepares the bits and dots on his laptop, before actually typing them on paper. Franca plans on continuing it and adding more typewritten faces to the project.
