Brian Kane Displays Art On Billboards

Words

Artist Brian Kane displays art instead of advertisements on billboards in his installation ‘Healing Tool‘. The pieces are installed temporarily along an interstate freeway in Massachussetts. During the day, the billboards consist of lush natural imagery that seem to disappear into their surroundings. That’s why the project is named after the Photoshop tool that is used to patch over landscape photographs. At night, a picture of the moon and the milky way is shown. ‘The goal is to provide a moment of temporary relief and unexpected beauty during the daily grind of commuting’, the artist says. His ‘unvertising’ campaign is set up until July 26, 2015.
