Poignant Photographs Of North Carolina By Aaron Canipe

In the series ‘Plateau’, American photographer Aaron Canipe captures poignant images of the North Carolina piedmont, a flat region in the state that is located between the mountains and coast. From moving portraits of residents to contemplative shots of the landscape, the images were created in 20 different North Carolina counties and explore the ever-evolving face of the region. The series was inspired by writer Thomas Wolfe’s novella ‘The Lost Boy‘.
