Elegant Sculptural Lamps By Odd Matter

Dutch studio Odd Matter designed a series of sculptural lamps that beautifully illustrate the process of closing and opening a circuit in order to create light. Made of copper and jesmonite, their unique design features a rotating arm instead of an on-off switch. On the inspiration behind it, the designers say: “Objects have states. There are objects with a single state such as a table or a shelf and there are objects with two or more states such as a folding chair, door or lamp. Objects with more than one state need to perform transformations in order to deliver their use.”
