Oftentimes, we stumble upon artworks that stem from the same idea but have very different visual outcomes. That’s why we set up our ‘Two of a Kind‘ series – to see how two artists working with the same starting materials can transform them in their own unique way.
This time, we gave Singaporean creatives FakedCandid and French artist Kevin Lucbert a party horn, kitchen towel and wooden clothes pins. See what they came up with below…

KEVIN LUCBERT
French artist Kevin Lucbert creates intricate and mysterious drawings using ballpoint pens. For his ‘Two of a Kind’ contribution, Lucbert integrated the given objects into a series of illustrations featuring geometric constructions and bold blue shadows in a city setting. The artist lives and works between Berlin and Paris.

FAKEDCANDID
FakedCandid is a collaboration between two visual artists from Singapore, XL and Donson, who create and develop lively mixed media art concepts and campaigns. For our ‘Two of a Kind’ series, FakedCandid contributed vibrant photographs of human figures interacting with the given objects in various ways. Each image features bright colors with thin linear graphics overlaid creating a playful touch.
