Daily Life Of Firemen From Above Captured By Chan Dick

Chinese photographer Chan Dick took a series of aerial images of the Chai Wan Fire Station in Hongkong. His photographs capture the daily life of firemen in action with a serene and minimal touch. On the idea behind the series, Dick says: “While working at my workshop one day, I discovered for the first time the bird eye’s view of Chai Wan Fire Station through the ventilation window of the washroom. What I saw was more eventful than I thought. Apart from undergoing physical trainings, the firemen of this station also played volleyball, washed firetrucks and held guided tours for students, all happening within this little square area that I observed and framed from above. Days and months passed. Scenes begin to repeat themselves. I started to slow down and patiently wait for the next unexpected scene…”
