Belgian-born, Mumbai-based designer and architect Dominik Raskin created ‘tectonic rugs’ from flexible stone veneer. Inspired by a long-standing interest in 3D modelling, printing and poly-art, Raskin crafted his rugs from a layer of thin stone with a fibreglass backing, resulting in a soft yet sturdy surface. When folded, the rug’s individual components morph into 3D landscapes, bridging the gap between the digital and the physical realms of the designer’s practice.
