Textured Chocolate Bars By Nendo

Titled ‘Chocolatetexture‘, the latest project by Japanese design studio Nendo explores the various effects between texture and taste in one single bar of chocolate.
The bar consists of 12 pieces, each one with a different geometrical pattern, such as stripes or zig zags. Nendo’s chocolate bar comes in five distinct flavors, including milk, bitter, white, strawberry and matcha, and can be seen as a continuation of the studio’s textured chocolates, which we’ve featured before.
Speaking about the idea behind the product, the studio says: “What was perceived through this design was that although ‘eating’ is generally thought of as one action, actually the taste is recognized after going through various procedures such as ‘place on top of the tongue’, ‘bite’, ‘roll inside the mouth’, ‘melt’ and ‘swallow’.”
