For his personal series ‘In Between’, Montreal-based photographer and digital artist Simon Duhamel takes portraits of young people illustrating the phase between childhood and adolescence.
By placing his subjects behind a window frame, Duhamel depicts the transitional period in his distinct graphic style. Duhamel’s other projects involve commissioned work and collaborations with agencies and he describes his work himself as “somewhere between photography and illustration, influenced by cinema and pop culture.”
Speaking about the inspiration behind the series, the photographer says: “Placed between the curtain and glass, the comfort of their home and the window to the outside world, the subjects of this study are facing a series of changes and we are witness to this introspective search for identity.”
