Fine art photographer Malte Brandenburg’s ‘Stacked’ series explores the architecture and urban design surrounding Berlin’s post-war tower blocks.
“With ‘Stacked’ I wanted to isolate these buildings in order to have a clearer view on them.”Intrigued by Berliners’ views on these 60s and 70s concrete behemoths, Brandenburg turned his lens to a selection of tower blocks in varying architectural styles, capturing each one in his trademark minimal, symmetrical style. Speaking about the idea behind the series, the self-taught photographer says, “With ‘Stacked’ I wanted to isolate these buildings in order to have a clearer view on them and in comparison to each other, as I believe they are an important part of the ever-changing puzzle called urbanization.”
