“It’s a hybrid piece, which gives a contemporary twist to a traditional design language.” The double Ws in the name of the chair stand for Windsor and Wire, referring to its form and the materials which were used. Shafts of 5mm powder coating metal wire spread out upwards from beneath the seating surface. They fan slightly outwards from the bottom of the seat before combining with the wooden backrest. Through the minimalist design, the chair appears like a sculpture and still holds a sense of lightness. “It’s a hybrid piece, which gives a contemporary twist to a traditional design language.” The diversified juxtaposition of materials is characteristic for its designers at the multi-disciplinary studio Hierve.
