A Fashion Editorial Portraying A Vague Vision Of Shanghai

For Modern Weekly China, photographer Jack Davison shot a fashion editorial on the streets of Shanghai titled ‘The One I Know’. The striking images are set in the gritty scenery of the Chinese metropolis, capturing the play of light and shadow in a dynamic way. The clothing worn by the models is from luxury brands, such as Hermès, Christian Dior and Dolce & Gabbana. Living and working in London, Davison focuses on portrait and documentary photography.
+ Read MoreIn a statement about the series of photos, Davison says: “The idea behind our story was to spend a week reacting to Shanghai as a newcomer to the city and seeing if I could make some sense of it in that brief time. […] We shot on a quiet street that I to stumbled upon, either side of it quite the opposite of the other. […] It seemed an appropriate place to shoot, and the story is I guess is a vague vision of Shanghai, a mishmash of old & new, constantly shifting, tumbling down & building up.”
