Living and working in Southern France, Guillaume Gaubert is a French film photographer whose work evokes the feeling of wanderlust.
After getting into photography when he was given his grandfather’s film camera, Gaubert started to explore his local surrounds, capturing the beauty of nature bathed in the golden sunlight of the French Riviera.
Reminiscing about one of his latest road trips with friends, Gaubert recalls: “I live in southeastern France and my friend Vincent Mathieu told me he was doing a road trip and passing nearby, in the Gorges du Verdon, one of the most beautiful river canyons of Europe. So I left home with my girlfriend Morgane in August and joined him to spend various days with his friends, Lisa, Léa, Pauline and Arnaud.
We were amongst forests, lakes, rivers and mountains. During the day, we wandered by the river, swimming and playing. At night, we went to the top of a hill to see shooting stars. There was so much magic to this place, from the view to the feeling I got when I was there. I thought I was in Yosemite park.”
