Ephemeral, experimental, beyond the common standards of beauty – these words can describe the world of Claudia Danna. In her latest collection, called ‘Involution to the Comfort Zone,’ the Milan-based fashion designer continues to play with forms and ideas, creating an enigmatic yet striking collection.
The collection is a symbolic return to the early years of school. However, the school uniform is here reinvented in an ironic version, with certain details being radically changed. Far from any logic and against their original function, Claudia Danna arranges the elements in the different context to find the aesthetic ideal. And so the sleeves act as belts, while slots and irregular holes change their shape according to the body movements. Spongy, soft and enveloping fabrics are translated into three main looks: solid, liquid and aeriform. To created a lookbook for the collection, the designer teamed up with photographer Joseph Kadow. Filled with visual nuances, it offers a tasteful study on material and movement.
