A Minimal Education Center In Spain

Scroll

Seville-based studio Daroca Arquitectos designed a minimal, multi-storey training and education center in the old town of Baza, Spain.

Built to solve fill a void in the urban space, the three storey building links the Plaza de la Cava Alta to the higher plane of Alcazaba, onto which the building’s clean white facade faces. A natural stone-clad base supports the crisp upper storeys. The interior, containing an assembly hall, activity rooms, an archive and administrative offices, is illuminated by skylights. “The concept behind the project aims to become a public building that serves as the connection between the current town level and the old citadel above it,” said the architects in a recent interview.
