Weather-Inspired Sculptures

“People are more aware of sustainability and have a different relationship now to materials, objects and quality.” With its carefully crafted details and surprising concept, ‘Weathered‘ stands at the crossway of design and art. A collection of five objects, it consists of features that in different ways trace the components of weather – degradation, humidity, wind and movement. Along with an instrument indicating seismic movements, an object that measures the moisture in the atmosphere or a sculpture that shows the wind direction, Kneip not only presents an interesting take on the representation of nature in design, but also points out the need for well-crafted objects on the market. Jurgen Platou Willumsen and Stian Korntved Ruud, the designers behind the studio, say: “We believe it’s time for change. People are more aware of sustainability and have a different relationship now to materials, objects and quality.”
