After having moved from Sheffield, UK, to San Fransisco, USA, photographer Marc Alcock became fascinated with Californians’ relationship with both their homes and nature.
“The details in the images only offer clues as to who may live there.”Focussing his lens on the living sculptures the denizens of San Fransisco and Los Angeles had growing outsides their houses, Alcock, whose work is concerned with the visual language of environments, explains, “Every house on the street has its own unique personality. The paint color, the architectural features and nature all working together to form something completely personal to the owner. I’m sure the people that inhabit the homes are just as interesting and idiosyncratic. But the details in the images only offer clues as to who may live there.”
