Using simple elements and well-conceived mechanical systems, Swiss studio Zimoun creates kinetic installations that activate the space in a poetically minimalist way.
‘329’ is a big-scale sound sculpture, placed in a huge industrial toulene tank. The mechanism, based on 329 prepared dc-motors, moves repeatedly, creating a symphony of subtle sounds. Not saying much about their projects, the artists leave the viewers with the pure experience of an artwork, allowing them to find their own key for interpretation. And the experience is one of a kind, giving the first impression of a mysterious, industrial construction, the viewer enters the clean, otherworldly space diving into the kaleidoscope of sounds and movements.
