A Documentary Take On Fashion

British photographer Tom Johnson, known for his compelling pictures of small-town locals wearing high fashion, returns with a new fashion editorial created in a documentary style. However, this time, the character is one – and you’d better not mess with her.
The photo shoot reveals not only Perkins’s strong personality, but also the elegance and dignity of a fighter. For this project, Johnson teamed up again with stylist Charlotte James. The main character on the pictures is Victoria Louise Perkins, aka ‘Tigger’, a 12-year-old kickboxing champion from Swansea, Wales. With her father as a trainer, and the whole family involved in sports (also seen on the images), ‘Tigger’ became involved in martial arts at the age of six, quickly winning six different titles. Commissioned by PYLOT Magazine, the photo shoot reveals not only Perkins’s strong personality, but also the elegance and dignity of a fighter.
