French designer Marc Venot‘s ‘Quetzal’ chair, created for the Spanish furniture company Missana, pays tribute to the bird of the same name.
The chair features 14 bright overlapping cushions which represent the bird’s feathers, and, according to the designer, “manage to create an amazing visual impact and provide the product with the unique feature of being able to change the main color of the armchair in the blink of an eye.” Below, the designer shares his creative thought process in a series of charming sketches.
