Rough nature, earthy colours and a mixture of jacquard denim, cotton twill and mohair. South African fashion designer Nicholas Coutts’ spring/summer collection
was shot on the beautiful east coast of the Western Cape at de Kelders by photographer Luca Vincenzo and art director Gabrielle Kannemeyer.
“The collection stems from urbanism versus naturalism, exploring the masculinity of African Fashion and representing strong and powerful silhouettes galvanising the modern man but still keeping the shapes and styles traditional. Flecks of subcultures are represented by the fabrics including jacquard denim, cotton twill, acid denim, quantec, wool and mohair to create visual impact. The collection amalgamates the exploration of empowerment, enrichment and comfort with natural elements to create a mood which represents the new aesthetic of Africa.” Coutts explains.
