The Light Captured By Nicolas Rivals

The project is a part of the bigger initiative, called ‘La Línea Roja’, in which the Paris-based photographer constructed red light configurations and installed them outdoors. Made mainly during a trip through Spain, it balances “between the strange and beautiful” and creates the “luminous harmony between the chance and the will”, as the photographer describes it in a poetic statement. Each one of the temporary pieces was captured in a series of long-exposure photographs. Revealing the striking contrast between the artificial and natural, it shows the difficult relationship between man and nature that ranges from homage to sacrilege.
