In collaboration with adidas Originals, Tokyo-based Hender Scheme pay homage to three original sneaker silhouettes, creating limited handmade editions of the iconic Superstar MicroPacer and NMD R1 models.
Founded by Ryo Kashiwazaki in 2010, the Japanese label is renowned for artisanal craftsmanship in footwear design. Hender Scheme evolved through Kashiwazaki’s fusion of psychological study with his training as a cobbler, manually producing shoes in a Tokyo workshop, with meticulous attention to detail. This formula for shoemaking has been continued in the development of the adidas Originals by Hender Scheme line. Kashiwazaki presents a luxury take on the Superstar MicroPacer and NMD R1 models, slowing down their design and production processes to elevate the classic silhouettes. Made with raw undyed leather uppers and replaceable soles, the sneakers create an experience of timelessness and durability. By applying traditional methods to adidas Originals, Hender Scheme remind the wearer of the craft of shoemaking.
