A typical 1920s villa in the south of Italy has been transformed by Andrew Trotter; becoming a serene space where contemporary luxury and Puglian tradition merge.
Located in the countryside outside the Italian commune of Ceglie Messapico, ‘Villa Castelluccio’ was revitalized by Trotter at the request of a British couple who desired a European escape. Though presently available to the public as a holiday rental, the villa retains the comfort and atmosphere of a loved home. Its relaxed character is intentional; the three bedroom property has been reimagined using traditional techniques and materials and is decorated with pieces from the owners’ art collection, with simple, but luxurious, furnishings. As is customary in Italy, the social heart of the building is its open-plan kitchen. This dining and living area opens onto the garden, which features a paved area for alfresco dining, olive trees, and a swimming pool.
