The teams behind Chinese firm Aim Architects and Danish practice Norm Architects have come together to design an exclusive, minimal villa resort in southern Sri Lanka, titled ‘K House’.
The resort is situated in a secluded location, “surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking views”, explains Norm architects, whom we have interviewed previously. The property “effortlessly blends into nature with large openings, soft transitions, and natural materials”, they continue. The complex is comprised of two separate concrete buildings with peaked roofs: the East House, placed on a sloping plot with sea views, and the West House, partially hidden amidst tropical palms. Both buildings feature wooden shutter doors and minimal teakwood furnishings, contrasted against polished concrete walls and granite tiles. A terrace frames a central pool and garden that looks out towards the ocean.
