Spanish studio Pensando en Blanco has designed the flagship womenswear store for the local fashion label ‘Loreak’ in San Sebastian, furnishing the monochrome space with bright pops of color, blue glass partitions, and statement pieces of jagged grey marble.

The store is located one street away from the menswear store, and is based on a similar design concept. The architects were contacted by the label to create a space that would complement the brand’s aesthetic: the store should have a “dynamic appearance”, they explain, with the occasional “surprise factor”. This requirement has manifested into a bright and clean minimalist two-storey building, with spaces subtly separated by frames made from black metal, and partially covered in transparent cobalt-blue glass sheets. “Playing with blue transparencies brings freshness and plasticity,” note the architects of this decision. Wooden racks mounted on rectangular marble blocks provide a visually appealing place for garments to be hung, while a mustard yellow couch and a sky-blue rug add bursts of color to the space. “In turn, these design elements create new routes and arrangements for the clothing collections,” they say. “In this way, the space becomes dynamic, and thus in constant movement.”
