The Paris-based architect and interior designer Martin Massé has designed the limited edition ‘Gallipoli Sofa’ for New York and Miami-based gallery Studio Twentyseven.
Massé’s sofa is part of his collection titled ‘Eclectique’, which includes unique items such as an octagonal steel coffee table, a marble and calf skin bench, and a white onyx gemstone mirror. The base of the ‘Gallipoli Sofa’ is made from Roman Travertine marble, one of the oldest marbles in use in the world; its distinct coloring is formed by the deposit of carbon minerals in the Italian Poggi quarries. The sofa is upholstered in viscose and linen chenille fabric made by Italian fabric house Dedar; the material has the look and feel of velvet. Each of the limited-edition pieces are made by Les Ateliers Saint Jacques, a high-end French stonemason. Massé’s minimal, contemporary sofa is a luxurious twist on an everyday object, a timeless piece to be placed in an inviting interior environment.
