Lifestyle label TEKLA has released their new collection of products for sleeping, bathing, and daily life that combine luxurious materials, functional design, and a serene, tonal color palette.
The Copenhagen-based studio was founded by designer Charlie Hedin, one of the co-founders of cult Swedish footwear brand Eytys, and who has long standing experience at Acne Studios. With TEKLA, Hedin’s range of organic cotton percale weave bedding and towels were created to complement any home. “We had the desire to embrace functional and straightforward living through an uncompromising offering of products,” explains Hedin of the collection. “Our intent is to accentuate the natures of fabrics and their inherent qualities. Because we believe that textiles possess an essential role in our homes; they can alter the atmosphere and change the way we perceive our surroundings.”
The pastel aesthetic of the new items references curiosities from Hedin’s upbringing in the natural surroundings of Marstrand, a seaside town in Sweden, along with nods to modern architecture and design from the likes of John Pawson and Alvar Aalto. The bedding, bathrobes, and towels are made from 100% organic cotton; bed sheets are treated with a light stonewash for a matte finish, appealing to the eco-conscious shopper searching for timeless yet affordable designs.
