Barcelona-based design and animation practice Spot—Studio has reimagined the vision and manufacturing process of Berlin-based furniture designer Adina Burlacu, in a captivating 3D world that celebrates minimalism, materiality, shape, and form.
After unveiling the compelling virtual gallery ‘Imagined, for uncertain times’ during the first COVID-19 lockdown, Spot—Studio takes us on a new virtual journey which reflects its spirit of creative collaboration and ongoing support for the design community. Developed under the direction of Nicolás Cañellas and comprising static imagery and captivating audiovisual animation, the CGI series abstracts Adina Burlacu’s handmade techniques in the treatment of wood, clay, and paint, carefully highlighting the detailed design process and sensitive style of her atelier. Elevating the sculptural form, texture, and color of each furniture and design piece through an engaging play of contrasts, shadows, and lights, the poetic compositions merge abstraction with realism, creating an ethereal beauty.
