The Invisible Barn That Mirrors The Californian Landscape

Words

The architects behind stpmj built an invisible barn that mirrors the Californian landscape. Siuated in the Tahoe National Forest, the building is made of wood and sheeted with reflective film on its surfaces. This way, it appears to be invisible and fits in seamlessly with the surrounding nature. By projecting the trees, plants and the sky, the design of the barn appears to be at the intersections between sculpture and architecture. ‘Invisible Barn is a folly that loses its man-made architectural presence in nature but adds novel experience and interaction to the users’
, the architects say.
