Designed by Basel-based architects Herzog & de Meuron, ‘VitraHaus’ is a five-story stacked structure located in Weil am Rhein, Germany built to showcase Vitra‘s home collection. At first glance, the building looks like a chaotic pile of houses, but in reality it consists of 12 ‘houses’ stacked upon one another. An interesting aspect of the house is how the staircases were integrated into the structure in a style that the architects describe as eating “their way through the various levels of the buildling like a worm”.
