Korean artist Timothy Hyunsoo Lee creates intricate sculptures made of paper. Based in Brooklyn, his site-specific installation ‘Gookeyes‘ features folded pieces of paper with watercolor-painted eyes. Working in the field of sculptures as well as paintings, the artist creates a contrasting juxtaposition between the two mediums in a delicate way. On the inspiration behind his artworks, Hyunsoo Lee says: “A closer view of each cell, however, reveals that each mark is a moment captured – filled with emotional weight. In being immersed in a sea of moments, the viewer simultaneously experiences both the passage and arresting of time.”
