Spanish architecture practice Langarita-Navarro created an elevated family home in rural Spain near the city of Zaragoza.
Titled ‘Casa Doble’, the building encompasses two homes situated next to each other, united by the same geometric facade on an elevated platform. According to the architects, the project explores the relationship between urban and rural living by combining the various elements into the structure’s design, such as raising the top floor with the main rooms for stunning views of the surrounding valley. In a statement about the concept, the architects say: “In this project we wanted to learn from domesticity which living conditions and life expectancy could mobilize each of these forms when contrasted with the experiences and desires of our clients.”
