In a series of lighthearted illustrations with a group of nude females taking center stage, Chicago-based artist Laura Berger explores the theme of togetherness and praises the idea of finding the adventure in everyday life.
“My work is focused on exploring our connections with ourselves and each other.” Working mainly in gouache and acrylic, the illustrator draws inspiration from nature, dreams, rituals, travel and symbols. Intrigued by our quest for the self-development, she investigates how all these elements can be pieced together to create personal meaning. Sending the characters from her drawings on endless adventures, Berger studies our need to belong and be the part of a greater whole.
Speaking about her practice, the illustrator says: “My work is focused on exploring our connections with ourselves and each other, and the idea of finding novelty and adventure in everyday life.”
