Sparkling aqua water, exciting plant life, sun-kissed skin…the motifs of Swedish photographer Emma Hartvig’s personal project ‘Poolside’ are getting us in the mood for lazy summer days spent dipping in and out of the water.
“The motifs of ‘Poolside’ are getting us in the mood for lazy summer days spent dipping in and out of the water.”Based between Berlin and Paris, Hartvig creates carefully orchestrated frames that have a glossy finish recalling both advertising photography and film stills. To complement her fashion and editorial work for the likes of AnOther, i-D and Harper’s Bazaar, Hartvig creates a thrilling variety of personal projects, marked by a rich color palette and dramatic lighting. In the body of work ‘Poolside’, she explores fragmented narratives by using moments captured with bodes in water, on land, swimming and diving in photographic stills alongside with southern landscapes and its plants. Her work has received several accolades, including the British Airways High Life New Talent Award. We look forward to following the evolution of her practice.
