A Tiny Mobile Shelter

Designed by dutch artist Rob Sweere, the “Sledge-Project” was developed together with danish Ann Andreassen, René Kristensen and kids from the Uummannaq Children’s Home to build a residence to shelter people in different locations within the town of Uummannaq in northwestern Greenland.
The Sledge-Project is a space-age-inspired insulated cabin designed to move around Greenland’s cold and enormous lands. The artist decided that the best way to wander about would be to set up a shelter on skis that can be pulled by dogs. Made of insulated wood and featuring round windows, the Sledge-House can withstand extremely cold temperatures. The tiny house provides space for up to six people who can sit around, cook and even sleep inside.
