A winner of the Flash Forward 2016 emerging photographers competition, Alana Paterson works on both commercial photography and personal projects. Her work has appeared in numerous international publications and she collaborates with clients from North American and abroad.
As of an avid traveler, big part of Paterson’s work are the images from various trips around the globe. Her personal imagery is somehow surreal, but it has also a sense of nostalgia and curiosity that can be often found while discovering new places. Among her brilliant photographs, we were most haunted by the portrait of a blind deer captured in Japan. The photographer wrote on her Instagram account: “Half blind Japanese deer, who I met on a bridge outside of a temple. Sort of what I imagine Pokemon Go to be like.”
