Characterized by a whimsical aesthetic and a joyous color palette, Agnes Lloyd-Platt’s photography radiates an optimistic energy – a perfect fit for the campaigns of British accessory designer Ally Capellino.
The dream team of Agnes, Ally and creative director David Lane, have once again delivered a campaign which is full of eccentricity, channeled through a stylized lens. The SS17 campaign was photographed in a school, repurposing plastic chairs as stand-alone symbols of striking design – unearthing the magnificent in the mundane. For SS18, the team used the grand gardens of the Great Dixter House in East Sussex as a backdrop, to both complement and contrast the lilac and gooseberry palette. The decision to venture outside paid a personal homage to Ally’s love of plants and gardening. Yet, distinctive of Agnes’ aesthetic, the models are also propped up against a selection of block color backgrounds. Borrowing elements from the outside foliage and adorned in abstract accessories, a celebration of positivity and playfulness ensues. Accompanying portraits of floral arrangements suggest the results of the gardener’s efforts, reflecting the colors and compositions of the surreal shoot.
