A colossal four-ton rock overlooks the swimming pool at ‘The Soaring Rock’, a house in Maharashtra, designed by Indian architecture practice Spasm Design.
According to the firm Spasm Design, “homes celebrate life.” It was with this philosophy in mind that they created ‘The Soaring Rock’. Located in the sprawling metropolitan state of Maharashtra in India, the house spans across the rapidly developing farmland around Kavaddhara. With the dramatic cantilevered rock formation, the architects hoped to instill feelings of “liberation and expanse” within visitors.
The low-slung house sits atop a hill and bears witness to exquisite sunsets nightly. In order to preserve the unparalleled views, Spasm Design opened up the house onto a terracotta balcony. Wide, expansive windows run lengthwise across the entire house, allowing the occupants to look out with panoramic vision.
