We live in an increasingly urbanized world: as space decreases and people move to city centers, what does future living look like? ‘Built By All’ proposed a practical answer to this question by illustrating the necessity of community involvement in city planning. The installation required engagement from its visitors, whether through wandering through the color-blocked micro-neighborhood, or by creating models “Today’s standardized housing market is limited in its ability to meet the requirements of the individual.”of living spaces on the customizable totems that were then displayed in the space.
