Designed to “explore the evolution of living in a time of global mobility and fluid identities”, ‘Tense’ by Swiss studio Panter & Tourron offers a unique take on modularity, presenting flexible furniture for a new generation of nomads.
Comprised of five “neo-nomadic” essentials—a table, a lamp, a seat, a mirror, and room dividers—the furniture collection was designed to be easily transportable and simple to erect. Gone are the days of Allen Keys and screwdrivers, the pieces that make up ‘Tense’ are held together by the force of gravity and interlocking systems, so assembling them does not require tools. Weighing less than 20 kilograms collectively, and with all pieces able to be either flat packed or rolled into a tube, the options for storing the pieces or traveling with them seem almost endless.
