Italian duo Adriano Design, founded by brothers Davide and Gabriele Adriano, has created a versatile stove burner called ‘Ordine’. Unlike standard stovetops, the dual-burning set of portable hot plates can be stowed away when not in use.
The invention was created for kitchen accessories manufacturer Fabita, to provide new possibilities for those of us with limited cooking and preparation spaces. “‘Ordine’ transforms and creates a new order in things”, the firm explains. “The hob is no longer an irremovable block in your kitchen. With ‘Ordine’, you decide at what distance the nozzles need to be while cooking and how to put them back, leaving the surface free”. The minimally-designed piece of technology explores new ways to be space efficient; when not in use one simply mounts the burners on the wall like pots and pans, blurring the line between kitchen ornament and functional product.
