Stitched Portraits is a new graphic stitching project from Evelin Kasikov. It is a set of ten portraits which are all based on the same four-layer grid; squares, crosses, diagonal lines left, diagonal lines right. A photograph is a starting point for each portrait, but all images are created from scratch by using a mix of grid layers and modifying element sizes and line weights. These are all essentially pointillist images, based on the idea that image is built from tiny dots. Here, pointillism is given a graphic treatment and individual elements are not only dots but also crosses, lines, full- and half-squares. Each portrait uses a different stitching method, no two methods in the series are the same.
