Where are you from? How does that place influence the way you photograph?
I am from San Francisco California in the US, which is my greatest influence. The pictures I take are very much a reflection of my life here, the landscape, the shops, and the people.

What are your favorite environments to shoot in?
I love shooting rich landscapes, they are quite an easy subject to make look good because they are already very impressive to begin with. I find it exciting to shoot people within those landscapes because that is where the magnitude of the environment can be felt.

What are the strengths of shooting primarily mobile? How does this affect your imagery?
Most of the images I shoot for Instagram are all taken on my phone, which I really enjoy. There is a quickness about mobile photography that allows you to capture things as they happen. I love that. It also works like a fixed focal length lens on camera (phones do have zoom features but they often show lots of noise when you use them so I don’t) in my opinion this allows for creativity and more of an “as you see it” perspective.

Who and what are the things that inspire you?
I am a painter by trade, and photography has become a big source of inspiration for me. I love the constant stream of creative and beautiful images that I see both on Instagram and the Internet at large. I view all of this visual information as potential fuel for an idea in painting. The landscape I live in, and the people that I have developed relationships with, are also hugely important for both my painting and photographic inspiration. There is nothing more exiting to me, than rediscovering your own backyard and finding so many incredibly beautiful things in it. Shooting or even painting something that I have seen a million times, but trying to capture it in a new fresh way provides a great challenge that I enjoy.

Which Apps do you use to edit your pictures?
Strictly VSCO Cam for the most part. I also love SKRWT for straitening out lines in pictures, as well as snap seed. Snap seed a has great selective adjust feature which allows me to do pin point editing for certain parts of my pictures which can be super helpful especially for color.

Tell us a little about your everyday.
My everyday is spent either in the studio or with friends trying to capture source material for paintings and photographs. I love living in the Bay Area because the creative community here is huge. I have met so many incredibly talented people here through Instagram surprisingly. A lot of my friends here are also photographers which is great because they are just as jazzed about waking up to see the sunrise as I am. I also love anything DIY so I spend a lot of time tinkering with leather supplies, wood, and other materials to try and figure out how to build/ put things together myself.
