Pingyao is a city in Chinese province Shanxi. Relying heavily on coal, chemical production and metal refining, the province often suffers from severe pollution. While the people where in the middle of preparing for the Spring Festival, the beautiful old town was cold, smoggy and covered by a layer of dust. I have used a darker presentation and low contrast to reflect the atmosphere in my pictures.
