Fear Of Breakdown
Fear of Breakdown is a series of 24 photographs framed by a golden border. The square format echoes those modern objects of communication which saturate our surroundings. Elements of fragmenting memories are reconstituted as a cabinet of curiosities, and the images seem stolen from a photo album. The links which connect the photographs transform them into relics of a lost Eden. It originates from various readings: Fear of Breakdown by the renowned pediatrician and psychoanalyst D.W. Winnicott, as well as ancient myths, particularly those of Icarus and Oedipus and their literary retellings. Through these photographs, the soul is materialized by representations of the body, and environment embodies the psyche.
